Getting to Your Vaccination

METRO provides free local transit rides to and from COVID-19 vaccination appointments in Santa Cruz County.

Riders who are interested in using METRO to transport them to and from their COVID-19 vaccination appointments must let the operator know when boarding the vehicle and show proof of the vaccination appointment. Proof of vaccination appointment includes a photo, printout, or email of the confirmed appointment slot or vaccination card.

Free fares for vaccination appointments will be available to all fixed-route and ParaCruz riders. Customers who are eligible and enrolled in METRO’s ParaCruz service will need to specify ahead of time that they are going to and from a vaccination appointment at the time of making the reservation for the free fare to apply.

To make getting to your COVID-19 vaccination appointment even easier METRO has created a map highlighting routes that stop near vaccine clinics. Please click on the map below to determine which route best applies to your vaccination location. Vaccine clinics in Santa Cruz County include a “vaccine icon”, simply click on the icon and a pop-up box will appear with a list of METRO routes that stop near that location.

Please note that this map only includes non-drive-through vaccination clinics. Additionally, vaccine clinics are only taking scheduled appointments at this time. Please feel free to reach out to the clinic directly to inquire about eligibility criteria and scheduling an appointment. Healthcare systems are frequently updating eligibility criteria based on capacity and available vaccine.
