Big Basin Art in the Park Event
June 15th 10AM – 2PM

Free Fares to the event on METRO’s Route 35B.

Save the date: We’ll be participating in something special on Saturday, June 15 and you’re invited! Join us for Art in the Park: Big Basin. This California State Parks Week event concludes the year-long Big Basin Art About project.

For one day only, view art of all kinds inspired by Big Basin’s recovery and created by the 17 Art About artists. Soundscapes, architectural elements, statues, short films, paintings, fiber art, wood carvings, photography, multimedia interactive installations, and more will debut at the event.

Once you’re feeling inspired, you can explore your own creative side: join a nature journaling hike (no experience or supplies necessary), visit the kids’ crafts station, or watch plein air painters at work on site.

So pack a picnic or purchase lunch from food trucks on site, and make a day of Art in the Park at Big Basin! For more information, visit www.castateparksweek.org.

Plan on taking METRO’s Route 35B bus to travel to and from the park on June 15 for free. The small Big Basin parking lot is expected to completely fill early in the day. The 35B bus will be free on the day of the event and offer extra service. Free parking is available at the Santa Cruz METRO Scotts Valley Transit Center.
